When are the summers going on?
Hey Guys,
Having been back in Canada since July this is my first winter in 9 years and want to know when everyone throws their summer wheels and tires on?
April? May?
Just curious...

+7 degrees.
Your summer rubber will be like hockey pucks below that.
Even when the +7 daytime temps return, nighs will still be cool so your traction can still be dicey

Cam normally for my daily drivers I swap the summer/all season wheels back on April 15. That's likely when I'll have the 911 back on the road as well.
I remember one early April about 10 years ago where things looked nice and clear when a huge snowstorm hit us. with the winter this year I can see winter not wanting to go away any sooner then that.

Lol, sorry myw! I was being a little over dramatic as the forecast is calling for cold conditions right through March... and that's a little upsetting as I don't just enjoy driving Porsches, my career trade is making them shine at my polishing shop in Newmarket. I'm waiting patiently for +10 C ...waiting and waiting!

Just asking...I have no intention of putting the summers on soon.
I'm from Edmonton so you can definitely count on waiting until May most years. Having not lived in Ontario is basically why I'm asking.
Would it be naive to think that Ontario will also fix the potholes too? LOL....

Usually, mine go on end of March or early April...whenever we're consistently above 7 C.
In the GTA, you can usually (there's that word again) do that earlier.
...and the potholes...don't hold your breath.

Drifting
This is what I saw on a Cayman S TODAY, bald Pilot Sports rears, front ones are better in terms of tread depth, but certainly not the compound.
So apparently it's OK to put them on now, at least according to the owner of this Porsche.......

Mine are already on, but the car is still sleeping off the winter blues in the garage. I'm guessing in the next 2 weeks, I can start bringing her out to play a bit.

Sorry, I broke down and took her put for a spin, but I do have winters on my stock rims. Weather is supposed to be nice tomorrow, maybe one more short drive, a wash and tuck her back in...
