Default Nine Apart & Whaletail Canada

Was at the Porsche dealership yesterday and the service guy told me about Nine Apart & Whaletail Canada for used Porsche parts. Am in the market for a rear spoiler and was wondering if anyone has purchased any parts from either of these two places.

Interested in knowing if their prices are reasonable and are they a trustworthy seller. Thanks.

Frank at Nineapart has a bit of an attitude problem. I only buy parts from the guy, so who cares as long as he's got what I need for the right price. I never really had a bad experience there, but I've heard stories.

On the other hand I've only heard good things about Whaletail. Never dealt with them though

I've dealt with both and no problems.

That's my concern, I have limited patience for people with an attitude no matter what your position in life might be, especially when you're a vendor dealing with a customer and have zero customer service skill.

I appreciate the feedback though and will look them up.

I asked nineapart about their return policy. They said no problem full refund, minus shipping. Ok. So I buy some brake calipers. I wasn't happy with the calipers and returned them. They charged me a $160 "restocking fee". F*@k nineapart. Crooks!

I've had both good and bad experiences with Randy at Whaletail. He found me a single wheel to replace a bad one and left it for me at a tire shop because he was going somewhere, which I thought was very kind of him. I paid the tire shop for the wheel and they passed it on. He then sold me a fairly poor fender which he advertised as (from memory) pretty good. That's fine, but it was pricey. Unfortunately, the last time I bought from him, it was some brake parts, and he made a mistake and sent me correct rear parts, but fronts from a different car, then would never return my calls.

For someone who talks as much on the phone as he does, I found that an irritating way to dodge the issue. I eventually gave up, and bought the parts elsewhere.

I have had not so good experiences from Nineapart. I don't haggle on the price which I think is expected with the outfit. I don't mind paying for good parts but EVERYTIME I have purchased parts from him, he takes the price of a new part and charges 50% regardless of the condition of the part, and then sends me junk that was worse than the part I was replacing!

I will NOT buy parts from NineApart. It is like Frank is doing me a favour for taking my money and then giving me crap. Unfortunately, it will eventually catch up to him. I am Not very impressed.
