why not start your own class action lawsuit up here? plenty of cayenne owners in Canada would love to join. That is how it started in the US. Some lawyer could get some good publicity.

Your Cayenne will be long gone well before that Cdn class action law suit gets resolved.

New U.S. Export Reporting Requirements For Used Vehicles
http://clearit.ca/new-u-s-export-rep...used-vehicles/
"A Canadian who travels to the U.S. and buys a vehicle to bring back north won’t have this problem, because AES does accept a foreign passport number if the foreigner was in the U.S. when the vehicle was purchased. However, it’s important to note that in this situation the Canadian buyer, not the American seller, is considered to be the exporter, and is therefore responsible for the AES filing."

So now if you are to be considered the exporter, you would need to be in the US when buying the car and this means minimum 72 hrs?

Revival... This post hasn't been updated in a long time. For anyone willing to spend about $1.30 CDN : $1.00 US plus 6.1% plus HST and RIV (if less than 15 years old), you now also need to sort out an AES ITN# Request as part of the whole process.

You can pay for an AES as a place like this:

That's been in place for a couple years now. Get the brokerage house to do the AES stuff for you. It's an extra $50 (at least with the brokerage firm I use). No big deal. If you're importing the car yourself, it's one extra piece of paperwork, and they'll walk you through it.

A while back there was chat about Porsche Canada not issuing Letters of Compliance. I'd like to import a 2014-15 Turbo S since I can't find much the fits in with my requirements in Canada. Has the process got more complicated recently or is it still the same as the older thread on Pelican Parts?

PCNA still does it just call them. They may only provide it to the owner unless you have bill of sale. they were still issuing them in August btw.
