Default Gundo hack GTA ?

I finally sourced a good set of used cans for the 996, and I am looking to get the partial bypass done before winter sets in ! Can anyone recommend a shop that has done this in the GTA ? What is a reasonable expectation in terms of cost to bypass and re/re ? Thanks !

How much does Dave charge? I looked at a few places and all wanted $500+ which I think is redonkculous. I can get the same job done for $200 in the US so may have to wait until Spring and make a trip down south.

I got mine done for $200 this summer, super happy with the job, car needs to be left with him half the day though, as it needs to cool off before he works on it.

There are a ton of posts on this if you search and most put $200 as a reasonable price though some got it for around $150. I was going to do it but G-friend nixed the idea.....look forward to hearing yours.

Why was the idea nixed? Did you hear negative feedback about the hack?

Are you happy with the result? Did you do the cross pipe or use the 3rd unused port on the can?

So what Ronnie is really telling us is he opted for the optional cans ..

I always wondered why they have what appears to be a point on the cans for an optional pipe outlet - is this where the factory option with the valve is welded in?

Is there a difference in sound using the unused port or a cross pipe mod?

I'm thinking of doing this mod but don't have a used set of cans - do theses guys do a removal and reinstall after this mod or is the price quoted only if you bring in the cans already off the car?

In post #4 ... left with him half the day though, as it needs to cool off before he works on it. Gotta think they were still on the car

The sound and cost is different if you use the 'unused factory port', I believe its a bit more quiet. The 'cross pipe' which is what I had done is louder, but again not like a total bypass, which will get you kicked out of your neighbourhood. The guy at Tech Tune will explain the difference to you. His cost is incl R&R.

Thanks Ali!

I'm looking at a sound level somewhere in-between your car being keyed by a neighbor and louder then current stock set up...
