Has anyone in the region had a TPC turbo installed on their vehicle? More specifically, on a Cayman?

I am looking to hear where they got it installed and their impressions of the before/after.

I just put my 2009 Cayman S for sale and the warranty will be over when it comes out of hibernation next spring so modding will be a viable option. I am hesitating now and might decide to just upgrade it with a TPC turbo instead of upgrading to another Porsche with more performance. It would be cheaper and would have the performance that I am looking. I enjoy the 987 platform.

Aftermarket turbo/supercharger systems are never as realible as a dactory setup. Unless you know how to fix it yourself, an aftermarket boosted car can get expensive after the system isntalled. I know this is not related to your question but might want to consider it.

Yes, I am aware of that and have done a lot of research on the issue. I have read about some people having problems and regret going down this route. There are also hundreds of satisfied customers that have being using them for the track for years without any issues. The TPC turbo has been out for many years now and some of the biggest issues seems to be related to the installer.

I am still exploring the idea. In the end, it doesn't give me the the upgrade to the model I really want though. If I don't sell my car before winter it will give me many months to think about it...lol.

Have my TPC turbo for over 3 years on my 997 w/o a problem, it's been rock solid, no other extra maintenance since I've owned it. If it's properly installed, it will last as long as a regular turbo. You will probably get better and more replies over at planet-9, there seems to be a few people there with turbo Caymans.

I recently finished a TPC install on a 996 C4S. Installation expertise is a must. I just got the ECU back from TPC following a fine tune. Very happy now that I have everything working properly. Been a bit of a long haul. PM me if you want to discuss my experience. I do know that TPC has a lot mor experience with the Cayman than the 996.

I believe that EU Autowerks worked with and may be a distributor of TPC turbos.
