Wow, we're up to 45! If we even have a 50% turnout (which would be unusual - usually we only have a few last-minute cancellations) we'll still have a massive group!

But unfortunately that means a bbq at my place simply won't work. Not only is there nowhere near enough parking, but I can't ask my wife to stay home and cook burgers and dogs for 45 drivers plus several passengers!

My sense last year was that we weren't thrilled with the Pepperwood bistro, mostly because of how slow they were. Am I correct?

to be honest you walk in any where with over 30 people and its going to be slow ..

Yep, no restaurant is going to be fast.

A park and a BBQ might work better. I have a couple BBQs and a trailer, if that helps.

Or what about Mosers up on Guelph line? He as a big grass field beside the restaurant. He does PCA stuff on Thursdays I think. I sort of know the owner, through a mutual co-worker.

That is a fact. I'm in the industry and I can vouch for that. We should look for a "faster" food service outlet if that is required. Any good BBQ places?

Places have to bring in staff for a crowd, and happy to do it with advance notice. 45 cars is going to be a real challenge, maybe it would help to split into three run groups with a 20-30 min leads. A novel approach could be half starting at the Monument and the other half from Stoney Creek and blasting past each other at the tunnel.

why do i get the feeling that has disater written all over it ..

i definitely think 3 run groups would be good. last year we had 2 but dont remember how many cars we had .. about 40 Christien ?

I led one with Steve

Phil and Al led the other ..

I know Jon and JP know the route really well ..

The lot at queenston is huge and served as a great staging area..

For sure we'll break into groups, though we'll have to wait until very close to the date to determine. Last year there were several cancellations and additions in the 48 hours prior. I even got a cancellation email on my way there.

What about a food truck in a large staging area? I spoke to one of them about this and they said it would work, with enough advance notice. IIRC they had a flat rate buyout for a certain number of people.
