Comments on a car for sale "03 Silver 911TT"
What do you think about this 2003 911 turbo for sale?
I believe it has had some paint work done on the drivers side, nothing structural as far as I can see. Car appears to be very clean and pulls, pulls so nicely.
Anyone recognize it?
This will be my first 911.

why is the rear wing up in the pics? is it broken (common failure around 2k to fix) . for that price it should have x50. don't like the orange on silver. if you buy be sure to have overrevs checked in the ecu. no sport seats and no nav. the ad says paintwork verified w paintmeter...but you say it has had paintwork. wait a month as we are in end of summer and prices should improve IMO. Great cars.

I think the car is priced right. No affiliation. The 996 turbos are starting to level off and the 40 to 50 range is the norm. Anything less than 40 currently are major fixes or 996 NA territory.
Great cars and fast!
FYI - this car has been for sale since June.
They had an X50 for sale listed for about 53 or 55 but I believe they sold it.....

I just went out yesterday afternoon to check out the two turbos and the GT3. My understanding was that the GT3 and the grey turbo were on consignment and that's why the prices were firm.
The grey turbo was in good shape, the only issue I saw was excessive slop in the shifter. I found it to wiggle a heck of a lot more than the black X50 (which has the stock shifter), which is still for sale.
We were talking to Shane over there, and seems like a pretty good guy - absolutely no pressure and tried to give us as much info on the cars as possible.

To me, price looks as good as you are going to get in Canada - better than I would have expected in fact.
If you like that car, it is not likely that you will be able to beat the price by shopping in the US. That's about equivalent to a $40k turbo after duty and transportation and misc. expenses are considered.
A friend bought a turbo in the spring in the US. Best deal he could find for a low mileage 2001 (12k miles) was $51k. He bought it.
When I was looking two years ago, all the cars that I could find in the $40k range were all sketchy. Every one of them. 2nd gear pop out was common. Lots of owners was common. Stories galore. I found a $52k asking 2002 under CPO (which was great because everything that was found under PPi was fixed) with mods I wanted and talked him down. My expectation was that those $40k'ish cars would be much more expensive over the long run.

Thanks for all the posts and comments. I believe the GT3 was on consignment, didn't know the silver turbo was also.
I didn't notice the shifter felt sloppy....then again I have nothing to compare to.

Why are you considering Turbos and GT3s?
Dont you find them quite different? I think that most people who buy Turbos do so for the back seats and their all season practicality (as I did) or they buy them for their huge power potential. GT3s are more "drivers cars".
Im not sure which Id choose if I didnt need back seats and to drive it 12mos a year, but what is it you plan on using the car for?
