needa car / pawsh

ok seriously, I have some options/ definitions / that I'd lika some help
new car is going to either be
1> Daily driver / or 2nd car (6 monthly, i.e summer)
2> prefer a convertible
3> must have rear seats, so my baby (3yrs) can ride with daddy
4> 1st choice is a 968
5> I do have a price range, but... lets not get locked with prices at the moment.
6> if not a pawsh, then looking at a few options (see below)
(in order)
Porsche 968 - cab
Porsche 996 - cab
Mercedes-Benz CLK320 - cab
Chrysler Sebring Touring - cab
Porsche Cayenne Lux
Dodge Challenger
7> AUTOBOX, I cant drive stick here, although I have not tried yet, seems really weird seeing as I was used to changing gear with the correct hand, so ... and I have also got used to driving autoboxs
8> Cruise Control, would like CC
9> US / CAN, there are a few cars in Canada I've seen (through AT) although 1 is all the way over in Calgary (speedbird yello auto 68) and a black manual 68 cab in the GTA.
I have looked at the AT US site and saw a few (I based my calcs as 300miles from Buffalo) so could fly over, and drive the car back, as opposed to shipping all the way over from Calgary.
Anyone shipped cars over from the US? is it easy..
I know I'm asking a lot, not have being here for ages, take pity on a pawsh-less guy here !
TIA
Adrian
A Cayenne has very little to do with a 968 for instance. I suggest that you narrow the list down somewhat, and if you have a specific 968 or 996 in mind you might want post the link to it.
thanks for replying,,,
1> ok yes it's true its quite diverse, but I have to also look at other issues, my "ideal" would be a porsche, 968 cab, intitially, but I really want an auto wiv Cruise (did they ever do it), I also have to look at the options of age ( there is a wife also behind this deal) its 2013, and I'm looking at a car from the 90's. I also got hurt pretty badly, loosing my 44
, also most of my porsche mechs/freinds are in the UK.2> The car must have rear seats and should be a prestiege marque. If I can't getta Porsche I was thinking. MB or possibly BMW, again it would have to be.
3> Thanks on the Sebring, the reaosn onthat is I have an inside man and close (in a dealer),
4> Yes the cayenne is not a cab, but it is a Porsche, and several steps up from a Caravan

5> I suppose I would like some feedback on my choices. As you have already done, which gives me some more ideas
6> Maintenance, running costs, insurance again are all factors, hence the range
7> I would also love some help on the 68's i've seen (yes I can give links) and the thoughts on getting a US car, also my thoughts on driving a manual,
Thanks again, for giving me your feedback, I have thick skin, so am open to all postive coments as well as scathing "r u mad comments

A 968 is SO far from a cayenne, clk or challenger, and those are all very different from each other.
You need to set some priorities, like, what features are necessary, what are preferred and what are fringe benefits.
And yes, importing from the US is possible. Lots of paperwork, but no worse than filing your taxes.

Let me help, answer these directly:
1) What style MUST it be? (Car vs SUV vs minivan....)
2) If a car, MUST it be a coupe or a cab?
3) You've already id'd back seats are a MUST. Good.
4) What is your price range? 5-10? 10-20? 20-30? 30-50?
This will be a start in the right direction.

Are you a DIY'er? I just drove a e46 m3 through the winter for 2 years with baby seats in the back.. great beater. wouldn't recommend the smg though. If fuel economy is on your mind you should really only consider a manual.

thought that was what you NA's and Canuks call manual !
