"EDGE OF THE WORLD GROUP" run
Passing this along to interested parties.
There's an upcoming run in Prince Edward County this Sunday, July 21.
So far it looks like we have a Cayman's, 914, 924, and 911’s of various years. No sure about the 912. Is the fuel gauge fixed?
Our meeting point will be at Woller Road (Highway 40) and Telephone Road. There is a traffic light there and an Ultramar Station with a parking lot for us to assemble. Ideally we should aim to meet about 10.30 AM.
If coming from the GTA on the 401, take Exit 522 and head South (about 1 mile). If coming on Highway 2, head North on Woller Road.
We will be travelling on a combination of county roads and country lanes. All are asphalted. Although some of the lanes may have some organic deposits from local bovines!
Expect to take about 4- 5 hours for the visit through the “County”. We will stop for a brief lunch, a wine tasting and if anyone is interested a visit to an artisanal cheese maker (Fifth Town Cheese).
See ya there

Great idea. I would have loved to be a part of this, but at ALMS this weekend.
If you have time on the trip, drop by at 66 gilead distillery,
http://www.66gileaddistillery.com/
My good friend owns this place and just started it from the ground up with his wife and 2 kids. Its homegrown vodka, gin and rum etc and a nice relaxing atmosphere. If there is any interest I will let him know you are coming. Otherwise have a great time.
Cheers

Edge of the World group trying to get a cruise together for Sunday, Aug 18.
If there is enough interest, they will get that done this week and proceed with the drive. The plan is to start at the Tim Hortons in Newcastle (Hwy 2 east of the road into town from the 401). From there, head south and east along the lakeshore into Port Hope and then head north into the country. Eventually, we would end up back in Port Hope.
Open to all that are brave enough to make the trip from the west end.
UPDATE
Sorry, postponed.
Too many on holidays

End of summer Edge of the world group run is a go for Sunday Sept 29th
This from the organizer Terry:
"Hello, one and all. For those of you who have expressed an interest in particpating in our next "tour", good news. I have checked out the route and all is in order. All we need now is favourable weather.
We will assemble at Tim Horton's in Newcastle (at the east end of the town on the south side of County Road 2) between 1:00 and 1:15 p.m. with departure set for 1:30 p.m.. For those of you unfamiliar with the area, exit the 401 at Mill Street in Newcastle and head north to County Road 2. Turn right and follow County Road 2 to Hortons.
Our route will take us back to Mill Street and south to the shore of Lake Ontario. We will follow the Lakeshore Road all the way into Port Hope - a wonderful drive with lots of great scenery and some nice twisties! We will then head north at the west end of Port Hope and explore some of the backroads north and west of the town. We will eventually make our way back to Algoma Orchards at the west end of Newcastle where you can browse in their shop or have a snack. There are also washrooms there if needed.
If you are a UCR-PCA member, you have probably already seen the article in the September issue of the Porvinz describing our July outing in Prince Edward County."

Relaying the message:
"Everything is ready for Sunday's drive. We will meet at Tim Horton's (County Road 2 East) in Newcastle (Mill Street exit from the 401) between 1:00 and 1:15 p.m. Departure time 1:30. The run should take about 2 1/2 hours with us returning to Algoma Orchards on County Road 2 just west of Newcastle. There is a snackbar there as well as washrooms and a great store.
Hope to see you Sunday."

Where exactly is this place - "Tim Horton's (County Road 2 East) in Newcastle"?
Not even the Tim Horton's web site can locate it.
Is this the Timmy's: 361 King Avenue East, Newcastle, ON L1B 1H4?

It's about a 35 minutes from me at 401 & Brock Rd. Pickering
If anyone wants to head out together, we can meet at the Canadian Tire parking lot right at the 401 & Brock at 12:00
There's a PetroCan across the street that has 94 at the pumps.
