Mosport GP Course
For those of you who have substantial experience around the circuit: can a 996 on street tyres with stock aero go thru 4 flat-out? The feedback i'm getting from the car thru that turn would suggest the need for additional downforce and/or mechanical grip, but I would like to get your input.

That isn't my car configuration, but I would be extremely surprised if you had a good run out of three. A 50/50 car still needs a slight lift at the bridge on R-comps.
Mind you, if you came to a stop right before the corner, I suppose you could do it flat.

I've survived not braking at bridge with MS cups. Won't try it again though. The car needs a slight jab at the top to set the suspension up. Entering at higher speed means you can't go flat out, just steady throttle then when the car straightens out and gets grip you can go flat out but by that time your almost at the bottom and into 5. If your entering slowly well below 160 kph and the car is set then going flat out is possible, smoothly though I've had the car lose grip hitting throttle to hard.

I always brake a bit before the crest but I've heard people say that they just breathe off throttle for a bit.
You might search Youtube for a sample of Porsches driving Mosport. Some videos show data like speed, RPMs, throttle and braking.

Short answer is NO
Long answer is you need grip and ability.
The former requires wing, suspension and sticky tires, the second, only you can answer.
I have heard people go "flat out" on 4 but to them that is 140km an hour. It all depends on how much speed you can muster to get to the bridge and then accelerate even more down the valley.
If you do try to go "flat out" with a street setup, please take video and post.

I don't recommend flat out on street tires through there.
so how is the new track? did they just pave where the old concrete was or was the whole track repaved? how is the new tower?

FYI: There is a new restaurant at cor 5. There is a paved road to five but it has a gate for staff use only but makes the walk from the top of four to five a heck of a lot better for fans now. Trees have been cut back at the bottom of four drivers right so that now you can see cor 5B as you come down the hill.
Just heard that 60% of the camping sites for the Labour Day NASCAR truck race are already sold. The Boots and Heart music festival has been expanded an extra day, (not that I care as long as they stay away from my trailer). New parking on property bought at the end of last year just on the west site as you drive in towards the DDT. That is supposed to be used for overflow parking and is now owned by CTMP. Huge maintenance building built up on the hill above corner one towards the gate that we expect will be used for VIP access to the tower and hospitality building. Paved parking for all these 458's expected in Sept! (Ferrari Challenge race moved to CTMP from Honda Indy this year.) We think Airwolf gets a paved landing pad this year! I have to go there this week as someone ran into my trailer knocking it off the cement blocks.

It is really hard to do with a 2600lbs 944 on Hoosiers R6. I can't always do it depending on race situation and/or exit speed at turn 3.
Just to let you know I was there when a nice guy totalled his 930. I don't want to see that happen anymore.
