I considered it but at the end of the day I think it's one of those "...I should have just done it right' things. This stuff is not all that 'cheap'. If your after cosmetics it might be OK but that's about it.

I've had the vinyl down for four years and it's still presentable. Come over and have a look.

A friend of mine installed it last year. It seems pretty good when new, but had some issues with moisture underneath, lifting and marks up fairly easily.

I had garage done with a resin epoxy and 3 years in it is still like brand new, just hose it off and it looks like the floor of a hospital. I'm very pleased with the product, had a very good firm install it. It is a European flooring system.
artofcoating.com they do some pretty fantastic work.

The epoxy is nice but can be expensive.
Got a 3 car garage (15 years old) and has been done a few times with latex floor paint.
Would have to be stripped before epoxied. Was quoted $5000 ! NOT!
Race deck is half the price and I can get creative with colors for borders & outlines etc.
Also, you can replace defective or marked up tiles just like you would interlock.

How good will it hold up to a jack lifting a heavy load? That would be my concern.

I looked at the Costco stuff and decided to go with this from a local company (no affiliation): http://www.fastflor.com/

It was less than $1000 to cover the whole garage and took about 4 hrs. It's held up beautifully for 5 years now.

The issue with epoxy is that it is not flexible so as the floor do move a bit, it cracks. Better to go with polyurea. Expensive but it is guaranteed 20 years and looks great. No affiliation. Just an happy customer.

I'm looking at options to do my floor and I think I'm going with porcelain.
It's the same stuff they use in the malls and very durable.
If I install myself it will be about $3.00 sq./ft.
