Cool cars.

What are the main differences between a gt2 and the turbo. I get the RWD, body kit and maybe a little bigger turbo but why are they priced 30-35-40k more? Exclusivity but what else?

456-483hp vs 415-450hp, steel sychros in all GT2's vs some TT's, trans. cooler, RWD vs AWD, bodywork, suspension(upper mount, coilovers, sway bars, front LCA's),no PSM/traction control, base stereo system, no rust protecting undercoat, no sunroof, no rear seats, etc etc are what I can think of off the top of my head,...TT's are a much better car and deal for most people...I want the GT2 because it is more track biased and very plain and raw(most people question why pay a lot more for 'less' car..)
I in particular love the 'GTA' GT2 because its a 'base' GT2, silver on black, no coloured stitching/seats belts/plain plastic trim, black gauges and so fourth..

PCCB's as standard, weight reduction in various places, no rear seats, the bigger turbos (same as TurboS) more aggressive areo. transmission cooling and synchro's improved, different spring/shock damping rates, possibly different up-rights i'm not sure, i believe larger brake cooling ducts. Rest of world GT2's had optional clubsport parts that we keep getting screwed on.

Edit: Rob beat me to it.

^yup exactly, PCCB was introduced and standard on 2002- GT2's, uprights are same as GT3, different than TT due to AWD design vs RWD, +1 bigger brake ducts, 2001(2)-2003 GT2's had the 'bad' spring/shock package which was improved in 2004-same time as GT3 intro, 2004- also got lots of carbon bits (spoiler/wing, front rad duct, mirrors)
Man, wish we got the clubsport package here

the 930 is a surprisingly hard runner, but GT2 definitely has more punch

Despite its reputation I bet you'll find the GT2 benign compared to the 930's at-the-limit handling...

the modern GT3/2's are much easier to drive at the limit and beyond(almost too easy), the 930 definitely requires precision and more inputs to do the same work, although if you are a 'driver' the 930 is very fun to play with, weight transfer allows you to maneuver the car in special ways
GT2 is really a modern 930, plan on packing the km's on vs. having a garage queen as current

Got lots respect for the guys that track a 930. Some guys are there running some highly modified race cars with single turbo, high hp and no nannies. True drivers car. The 996 GT2 is close but with two turbos.

There's only 2 p-cars listed? Is it this one: http://www.gtamotorcars.com/certifie...9299d428ea.htm?? I'm trying to convince my friend to look at it. If I had not already bought the GT3 I may have jumped on it. That has got to be the best deal on any Porsche in Canada!

our 930 has fortunately/unfortunately never seen the track in its life(too clean and original to track-rash it), one of the reasons its for sale/sold, thankfully has had many great road adventures it definitely rewards like no other car-perfect power-on oversteers are euphoric , but will hopefully be happier using a GT2 with regularity and be 'able' to track it despite being more benign

only a 930 driver could say a GT2 is benign
