Thanks for all the replies. Went to DFC today and reserved a spot for a 2014 991 GT3. Earliest cars will arrive in Nov/Dec 2013. Apparently, there is a "queue" already, and I won't receive my car until spring 2014 at the earliest, which is perfect timing for me. They couldn't provide any more information about the car beyond what I knew already from reading all the press releases and informative posts on Rennlist.
I test drove a 991 C2S today with PDK too. As expected, the shifts in manual mode are way faster than the manual mode of my C55 AMG's slushbox. The car I drove today did not have the paddles at the back of the steering wheeil....rather, it had the awkward push to upshift/pull to dowshift buttons on the steering wheel which were really counterintuitive for me.
Even though I am very comfortable and enjoy tracking with a 6MT transmission in my 135i, my desire is to get a car with the latest dual clutch technology (with proper shift paddles), as I think it provides a new type of performance which I have not experienced before.
Ronan's point about lack of reviews is true. I'm basically relying on faith right now and banking on Porsche's reputation given the recent history of GT3 cars from the 996 and 997 generation. Time will tell as car magazines get their hands on the 991 GT3 in the next few months/year.
All the spec's of the 991 GT3 sound great, EXCEPT for the fuel consumption numbers.....18L/100km in the city is pretty brutal for a 3.8L 6 cylinder engine.......lack of an overdrive gear and aggressive fuel mapping for maximum power/acceleration are probably the major causes. I just worry about excessive need to refuel during track days. Were the 997 GT3 cars so horrible in fuel consumption?

With my car It was rated as 8.3 hwy/13.2 city.
I get usually 14-16 and I drive it pretty crazy never below 3500 rpm.
on the highway long trips in 6th gear I get 8.8 - 9 and at the track 27l/100
So if they say it's 18l they mean only if it is being babied. Expect 20l. Unless they messed up and it's 18 at the track.

Talk to John Lee at Pfaff. He recently moved there from DFC. John lives and breathes GT3. He is a great guy and a GT3 fanatic. The service at DFC is very good. The sales folks are great, too. Never had service at Pfaff but willing to give them a try. I'll also put in a plug for Brent Hunter at Hunter Motorsports in Mississauga. Brent is a great guy; he installed my Fabspeed x-pipe and competition air intake, and he's a perfectionist.

Personally I prefer Pfaff for service. I have been to DFC twice with my car while it was under warranty and would never go back. Both times they were painfull to deal with. I'm a former heavy truck/diesel mechanic so maybe my expectation were a little high.
I went to Pfaff last spring for service and had a great experience. I plan to go back to Pfaff in the spring before my extended warranty runs out.

Overall, both dealerships have a good rep.
I am a long-time Pfaff customer and I have always been very happy with them. I buy parts for the old cars regularly there and we are on our second vehicle purchase with John Hulley, who is superb.
(I would also echo Porsche Wheel House on Brent Hunter... outstanding independent specialist!)
