Default 991-4S discount?

Hello Everyone..What discount should I expect on a 991-4S base price $120,500 + $35,000 in options? I purchased a 2012 Cayenne at the end of 2011 so this will be the second Porsche and I'm hoping to get a good deal from the same dealership.

Any input will be appreciated. Thanks.

I am guessing 2% as a good will gesture all the while telling you they aren't giving anything to anyone...unless of course you are "weighing it off against a 550 SL that is cheaper and the incentive from MB financing is attractive..." and blah blah blah...then you might get 5% - or not charge you PDI or might give you a set of winter rims and snows + 2%....or some blasted thing. Shell game - the old saying you can't suck and blow...

In addition to a couple % I'd look for dealer incentives such as oil changes for a year or as Overdraft mentioned snows/wheels etc... especially if you are a returning customer and also take your vehicles there for service... they should definitely give you some incentives to keep doing so.

Since you welcome any input...

For $35K of options - a free mental health exam coupon?

The accountants at the factory are rubbing their Teutonic hands with glee... in my opinion, this is absolutely crazy money to spend on a 911.

Respectfully,

Matt

I'd walk if you don't get at least 5%, especially if this is your 2nd vehicle from them.

Matt Lane: what other option do you suggest? I'm also considering the M6 and would really appreciate any advice

I think what he means is, get the 991, but don't add $35K worth of options on it. You won't get any of that back when you go to sell it.

This is the truth. Buy a 997.2 now where someone else paid for a bunch of overpriced options. Then buy a 991 in a few years. Or if you have to have it now, lean out your option list

Before you sign the papers and while the money is in your bank account: the power is in your hands.

From what I gathered, the margin on the cars is somewhere around 10% (not mentioning any extra incentives and behind the scenes bonuses we don't know about) and even more on the options.

The richer you are, the less time you have and depending on how much of it you want to waste - I'd aim for at least 7% otherwise would walk. You'd be spending over $200k+ at the dealership in a couple years, they should work with you.

In Mtl last week, the Dealer offered any 991 C4S In Stock, at 6% off.
I told him no, called me back to offer 7%, told him I need 8% to spend that kind of stupid money.

I'd reconsider the M6 if you're looking new. There have been a few pre-owned 2013 M6s being offered around and they're ~$40,000+ off MSRP... At that point, they're a great buy, but I sure wouldn't want to be the guy taking the first hit.

991 4S' seem to be tight across the country... If you like the spec (or are speccing a car), I'd be happy with anything over 6%... Life's too short to squabble on $150k cars

When I was shopping for a C2 Cab 991 last year, the most they were willing to discount was 2-3%. I assume it is same for C4S as it just came out.

Or here's another thought. Instead of a completely loaded 991, for about the same price, you could be in a low mile 997 Turbo S. It's a pretty nice car too.
