Hello Everyone..What discount should I expect on a 991-4S base price $120,500 + $35,000 in options? I purchased a 2012 Cayenne at the end of 2011 so this will be the second Porsche and I'm hoping to get a good deal from the same dealership.
Any input will be appreciated. Thanks.

I am guessing 2% as a good will gesture all the while telling you they aren't giving anything to anyone...unless of course you are "weighing it off against a 550 SL that is cheaper and the incentive from MB financing is attractive..." and blah blah blah...then you might get 5% - or not charge you PDI or might give you a set of winter rims and snows + 2%....or some blasted thing. Shell game - the old saying you can't suck and blow...

Not very much at all at this point.

In addition to a couple % I'd look for dealer incentives such as oil changes for a year or as Overdraft mentioned snows/wheels etc... especially if you are a returning customer and also take your vehicles there for service... they should definitely give you some incentives to keep doing so.

For $35K of options - a free mental health exam coupon?
The accountants at the factory are rubbing their Teutonic hands with glee... in my opinion, this is absolutely crazy money to spend on a 911.
Respectfully,
Matt

Matt Lane: what other option do you suggest? I'm also considering the M6 and would really appreciate any advice

This is the truth. Buy a 997.2 now where someone else paid for a bunch of overpriced options. Then buy a 991 in a few years. Or if you have to have it now, lean out your option list

Before you sign the papers and while the money is in your bank account: the power is in your hands.
From what I gathered, the margin on the cars is somewhere around 10% (not mentioning any extra incentives and behind the scenes bonuses we don't know about) and even more on the options.
The richer you are, the less time you have and depending on how much of it you want to waste - I'd aim for at least 7% otherwise would walk. You'd be spending over $200k+ at the dealership in a couple years, they should work with you.

991 4S' seem to be tight across the country... If you like the spec (or are speccing a car), I'd be happy with anything over 6%... Life's too short to squabble on $150k cars
