i think im good may have stored codes but no light on presently and when i plug the scanner in its green.

If the light is green, it has no emissions related codes and all the self tests have completed.

On this basis you should not fail any emissions test.

If you fail the new emissions test the 1st time, you can go back and take the 2nd test with the old emissions program. Ask the emissions facility about it. I passed the old emissions test with my two flex pipes leaking on my Cayenne.

I'm in limbo now, my 964 failed emissions back in Oct/Nov before I stored it. I was trying to do a pre-emptive strike as my sticker gets renewed Mid March.

So it's at GTEK at the moment, let's see what happens....

I just passed my test, 996 C4S fabspeed xpipe and giac tune. Battery was put in after storage and I drove 100km from storage to the test.

My Catalyst status said "not ready"
All the rest where ready or not applicable.

The new test allows for 1 monitor to be "Not Ready" on 2001 or newer cars and allows 2 monitors on earlier cars. This is why I got a pass with one monitor "not ready".

Did it fail the new test our old test? What emissions test did the 964 fail?

How do I determine if it was the old test or new test? I had it tested back in October when it failed. Turned out to be O2 sensor, just had it retested this week and it passed.

If they put it on a dyno then it was the old test.

well the audi is sai failure and o2 heater circuit failure dont know what to do now..

Yep, then yes it failed on the old test in October. Got the O2 sensor resolved this week before retesting and it passed.

There is a solenoid valve on top of the air cleaner that allows secondary air into the exhaust when needed.

Can you hear the turbine whine when you start it up cold that disappears after a couple of minutes? If yes then likely the secondary air pump is working and the valve is dirty (can be cleaned). What year and model and engine?

The heater circuit failure is usually the O2 sensor.

What are the exact codes thrown?

Also for vehicles older than 1996 they have to use the old test as the OBDII standard came into effect at that time. Before that each manufacturer had their own protocol.

Do they do emission tests on Via Rail, C.P and C.N locomotives ? If they fail ?
Tractors use a low sulfur fuel with an additive.Maybe they do too ?
I guess my little 1988 944S will leave a huge carbon footprint if I don`t get it tested every two years.
