I was a pimply kid racing in the Honda Michelin series in 88. One regional race at mosport at the beginning of the season. All three classes were on the track.
Me in my crappy 87 13oo civic, solid front rotors, drums out back. SLOW. Approaching corner two, scared shipless. Goodyear and spinard pass me on the right. Downshifting the Porsche, shooting flames out of the exhaust and up my hood. Ron Fellows, and some other dude passing me on the left in their trans am, well into the grass.
I can still smell hot tires and brakes.

Seeing this cup car makes me smile 😃

Yes Sir these Turbo Cup cars all had Vin# and are able be titled or to be able to register on the street. When my car was originally Imported into the USA it had Ontairo Plates on it. My friend who bought the car back in 1997 drove car over the boarder and back to NY as far as I recall. He of course had to get all DOT paperwork in order first.

One urban legend is that the team had to get a waste gate or something off a Porsche press car in the parking lot at Tremblant for Goodyears car.

Rob you have info correct here
That is the Vin 06 #60 of the 11 1987 cars in the pic. I now own the #07 car. #61 (seen below ) at 24 hour race in night time pit stop.
Both are 1987 Cars part of the 11 cars Al Holbert ordered up. 2 ended up in Canada and Performance Cars had something to do with them setting up for the 24 hours at Mosport that Summer. My car was driven by Bill Adam, Scott Goodyear and Richard Spenard as you can see on roof in photo attached. Car car in 5th behind 4 Corvettes. placed 3rd for start of the race.
