Searching for 928s in all the wrong... or right? places...
For those of you who don't visit the "... English and Français" forum, but who might have some suggestions on helping us eventually buy a 928...

Why not look south? Good 928s are very hard to find, especially if you want a 5-speed, not an automatic. Seems to me by limiting your search to your area you're really cutting yourself off from the supply.

Personally I would buy the best car you can find regardless if its auto or manual.

We are not really ready to buy right-away... unless the perfect deal presents itself. I am trying to get an idea of what that perfect deal (or an almost perfect deal) might be so we can jump on it one day when we are ready and it presents itself. Have got a lot of interesting advice on the thread;

I have been looking south... Andre Hedrick's car as discussed on the 928 forum would be perfect... but it is in California and I am not yet convinced that it is the perfect deal what with the shipping cost and complications... and I don't even want to think about driving it across the continent in the winter.
So I figured it doesn't cost anything to ask around locally. I have been following Craigslist and Kijiji for Quebec and Ontario also.

I noticed the thread by finally!... he's asking about 5 times more than we have to spend up front... we are looking for a project. A resurrection or a runner that can be improved over time.
