Default purchasing in la belle province

The worse IMHO are BIG dealer's that appear honest and are NOT..

2 cars on auto trader that i know of are falsly advertised.

It sucks as a rookie or newbie when you purchase 100k+ cars and expect top quality/honesty.

What rotten tread..

Guys just buy your car south of the border with dollar at par and no winter salty cars makes sense..

BTW the roads in the GTA are awesome...lol ... Oh let's not forget the quality drivers in Vancouver.. Risk is always high buying used..

Bought my perfect 2007 C2 from an Ontario dealer that purchased it from a Quebec auction. Check it out, do your due diligence and you'll be fine.

Last November I bought a BMW Touring in a private deal in Ottawa and when I ran the Carproof I found it went through the Quebec aution twice!

I still bought it as it was serviced at Otto's BMW all of it's life. If I knew this from the beginning I would never have even considered the car.

How has the BMW been? Have you had issues with?

Suckers and con artists are born everyday anyways. Won't go wrong if you are patient and spend time going through everything plus PPI.

I had great experience buying cars from Montreal before. Unless you know the seller personally, seeing the car and test driving is a MUST; let alone the PPI part. Never trust 100% of seller's story and oh yes...the pictures. Just my 2 cents..

Because it was Otto's or because it was at auction?

fact is Quebec is the fraud capital in North America. This is not opinion but fact. doesn't mean all Quebecers are bad just means there are more bad than in any other place in North America. Their laws don't punish for fraud the same as other places so it flourishes here. There are lots of nice trustworthy Quebecers, and lots of fraudsters.

You can plate and ride salvage title motorcycles there whereas in ontario, you cannot plate any branded motorcycle. I'm sure some have been washed thru to clean again too.

Is that right? Quote me some facts with references to prove your thesis.

Here is fact. Daily rentals and expired leases are moved to various auctions across the country from all provinces.

What we have here are ignorant people that have never bought a car in Quebec. There are good and bad dealers everywhere. It's always a case of doing your due diligence.

No more than any other 9 year old car with 150k on it.
My wife did get rear ended the first time she drove it but that's another story.

Not really. Some vehicles do move between provinces but the vast majority stay within one province their entire life. Probably 80-90% of cars sold at the 2 major wholesale auction houses in the GTA are Ontario vehicles. Almost all of those are off-rental and lease returns. And a QC vehicle will bring 90% of its equivalent ON car, maximum.
