Default Durametric Scanner Tool - Anyone local?

If anyone local has a durametric for the 996, would it be possible for you to bring it to one of the GTG's if you're heading out that way?

Trying to diagnose an alarm fault with the OEM system that causes the alarm to go off without warning.

Thanks in advance.

You must be very popular with your neighbors
What changed to cause the problem?

Lol, nothing really.
I used to have the "occasional" false trigger (read once ever few months) but now the problem has gotten much worse. Had an aftermarket head unit put in, but it was done by someone competent and was not the cause of false triggers.

Now it's gotten quite bad (without having made any change to the car), and oddly enough, it sounds like the alarm is "dying" because it'll start to go off, then start honking inconsistently, before quieting up completely (lights will still go off). My biggest issue, apart from the noise is that last time this happened, it also took out the 7.5amp fuse in the box under the seat which is on the same circuit as central locking and interior lights so if that goes, you have to replace it to recover your locks and lights.

My guess would be the door lock switch. Does your window still goes down a bit when you pop the door handle?

Only a little bit...that microswitch or regulator might have something to do with it...that problem still happened a few months if not a year or so before the alarm problem became recurring. Will look into it though. Would that also throw an alarm code on the Durametric?

I've got the software on a laptop and have an OB2 cable if you want to try it. I can show up at the 'bakery' next Sat if you like?
