Default Helmet Required for Autocross?

I am going to the TorStar Autocross tomorrow and I can't find any information on the registration site if I need a helmet or not. Anyone know? I suspect there were some confirmation emails with this info but they never made it to my inbox.

Thanks!

No helmet needed.
Been to a few and only ever seen 1 guy wear one.
Remove any lose items though 'cause you'll be tossing the car around a bit.

I'm surprised to hear no helmet is required for the PCA auto-cross, every club level and CASC regional level auto-cross events I've been to in the last 20 years required helmets.

It's in a large parking lot. Just going around pylons.
You never get out of 2nd. Top speed maybe 60 kph.
It's more about skill than speed.
Have a look at photo's I shot at the Aug & Sept Auto X on PCA UCR website.
You'll only need to sign a waiver and a permission slip if you bring kids.
The girls look great though with their hair flyin all over.

Maybe the PCA/UCR autocross events run slow enough that helmet is not required, that said I've seen a few mishaps at autocross events over the years which damaged the cars. An S2000 went up on a slope beside the course nailing a tree, a WRX went up the curb and also nailed a tree, and a Miata hit and knocked over a small sign which came down and punctured the hood, the Miata had the soft top down, good thing it wasn't a taller sign which otherwise could have hit the driver on the head........

Anyway, it's the responsibility, and liability of the event organizer if helmet is not mandatory for that event.

Default Official answer from PCAUCR

Here is the answer I received from the event organizer:

Helmets are recommended but not required unless you have a roll bar/roll cage fitted in the car.

The event was fantastic and safe. A helmet would definitely have been a personal option and not needed.

Helmets are mandatory for driver and a passenger at any CASC-OR sanctioned autocross. At the local club level or a provincial event.
