Should follow up but I've been pretty busy. After tracking down every member of this guys family and harassing them including his 'live in secretary' I eventually got my money back so that's good news. Bad news is that finding an engine for anywhere that money has been tough.

Well thats good to hear. There are some that say the engine is running but yah it is a risk with the flood ones. Not so much of a risk on the cars that are wrote off.

Get a carnthat was in a collision. At least you know it was running. Flood cars are very risky.

The chance of them catching on fire is reduced though

I guess you and many of us on here have learned a lesson (the not too hard way).
good luck with the search. how much is a crate engine in the US?
