Hi Christien,
we didn't get the engine out...yet, but i did get past the clutch which was my sticking point. I will be getting at it tomorrow and hopefully be ready for the pull.
I do want to thank JimV8 for coming by and going to get his dremel tool to cut a stubborn exhaust bolt which allowed us to move forward. I also want to thank Im000 and BimmerMike for coming by to help out as well. It really helps when you can have some guidance from somebody who has BTDT and offer confidence in forging ahead. I want to especially thank Eric B. for his help on the clutch and other motore related items.
This is what makes the community what it is - friendly and helpful. I don't know if it is working on my car or being with fellow enthusiasts that is more fun.
A big thank you to you all.
If anybody is interested, I will be working on the car tomorrow. PM and we can arrange a time that you would like to come around.

Worked until 6, then went in again today. Boy, am I tired.
Basically 1 more hour away from the pull. I was by myself today but I want to have a couple of partners during the pull to make it easier.

Engine is OUT! Jason V. helped with the pull. Basically, the 1 hr time frame turned into 2 1/2hrs, but it was relatively easy. Now to disassemble the existing engine, check the bottom end and pull parts as necessary.

You are more than welcome to come and watch or help out. I saw the work you did on your 951. Impressive. I like your cam towers. Now i need to source another block. Replacement engine cylinder walls are scored. :-(

Actually, I pulled the oil pan last night and i only see bits of rod bearing. I need to take the pistons out to check out the cylinder walls for scoring.
