I had a bit of a moment today.....
....that took me back to my childhood and reminded me just how much of a kid at heart and a car nut I am.
Allow me to illustrate....I was walking back from lunch at the St. Lawrence Market with a mate. We were heading west on King St. near Bay St. I hear this colossal engine noise from the East, heading towards me. Not a V8 and not quite a V12. A real banshee cry. A wail as it were. Before I could get the words out of my mouth it came into view as I was crossing the street.
There it was, in all its glory. A blazing yellow Carrera GT. All polished and shiny with its V10 monster begging to be unleashed again yet again. It's the first time I've seen one in action. I was gob-smacked to say the least. I was trying to rhyme off the pertinent specs to my friend, who I all but ignored from the moment THE CAR came into view. He turned to me and said, "You're going to have an accident in your pants, aren't you?" To which I said, "I may."
Most heads on the street craned to have a look at the car, and the driver. It was a sight to behold. And as quickly as it appeared, the yellow monster disappeared when the light flicked green.
After all these years, my love for cars has never diminished, but little experiences life this just reinforce the fact that I have motor oil running through my veins. Even with all it's foibles, the sound of that V10 is unmatched by any other. From now until the end of time. I'm glad I drove the 964 to the train station today because it was a glorious drive home. My little version of the GT.
Have a great weekend folks. Go drive your car.

Awesome story.
Not a hijack but one day about a year ago when I was living in Calgary I'm sitting at a red light on Mac Trail near southcentre. In a minivan. Kill me...
Anyway, out of nowhere sliding up beside me in the turning lane is a silver GT. Purring. I said to my son - Zachary - wait for the symphony to start... Two seconds later - green light - and he ROARS down the road. Simply stunning. I think I wept. He pulled into Earls and that was it - my GT moment, all of 4 seconds. Awesome.

Great story.... My ultimate dream car. I'll never forget the first time I saw one in the flesh... Stig's words are the closest I've read to how it makes me feel! Goosebumps just thinking about it...
