Default e-test

anyone have any connections for an e-test for a 1990 928, 5 speed. looking for a place in the hamilton to st. catherines area, possibly burlington. Would really like it to pass the first time, as I just spent my budget this year on a clutch parts, and new(er) car.

$5 for a can of sea foam will probably help a fair bit.

Yeah, sea foam is some kind of engine/FI cleaner. They sell it by the can at NAPA. Generally considered to be a good product for most any older engine. Being e-test exempt, I have no idea what it does to emissions, but I've heard it helps. I've used the stuff before. Can't say I felt anything different, but it certainly didn't hurt anything.

What the hell did you think I was talking about?

I can't recommend anyone, but I can tell you there are a number of shops in Hamilton that sell e-tests without even testing the car (they keep a car on the machine and run e tests all day). I would try a few shops along Barton st, offer a c-note and I bet it won't take you long till you get a passing test. That's alot easier than actually trying to pass and having some mook hook up your car. I have even heard that one of the MTO offices in Hamilton is selling e-tests. Don't ask me how I know.

I have made a dirty old rotary engine pass like a prius. The trick, 1l of camping alcohol on a quarter tank of gas, then drive right to a gas station and fill up to dilute. It increases the combustion temp slightly to burn more of the fuel.

Steve,

What makes you think it won't pass, what's missing?

Ha, I did this once...The ol' brown bill for an etest exchange in Brampton a few
years ago..at the shadiest of shady garages. It was a "hook-up" through a
friend. Here is what happened: they just took my 100 bucks, and ignored me.
Then yelled at me to leave. LOL..

I was pissed. But what was I going to do? It's like a dope deal in The Wire gone
bad; who are you going to call? Best thing I could do is tip the gov off
that I was bribed, but as if anything came out of it..

My advice: Get the car up to spec and pass fair and square.

There is nothing shady about my intentions. I just dont want to hand my car over to some goon who says it'll be an hour, then while I'm at Tim's, see my car go ripping done the street. It happened last time when a CT kid used my car to go for the shop coffee run. FK'er didn't realize the a 928 has no cup holders and he tried to drive it back with 2 coffees while changing gears and dumped one on the floor. It was quite the story he had when trying to explain it, especially when I was back at CT waiting to hear why my car was out on the street when it was there for an E-test.

Wow, that would **** me off a lot more than loosing 100 bucks! I hope the kid's
head and the manager's head rolled!!! That's so messed up.

I've been having great success with the boys over at Mantis in Oakville, it's a bit
of a trek for you, but I know that they treat their client's cars right. I was just in
this week getting a safety done on my 993, and they asked if I required a test.
I'd trust them over CT.

Good luck!!!
