Default Satin wrap in Canada (Toronto)?

I keep reading threads about Satin Guard wraps in the GT3 forum. Does anybody know a shop that does this in Toronto? What about cool colour wraps like matte blue or orange or whatever?

There was an article in Provinz recently? Is that what you were thinking of?

I called the guy up after reading that article, as I was interested in looking at his wrap product. He uses 3M stuff as well as a product from Germany. Nice guy, I believe his name was Brian, showed me his 911 Targa that was in the article as well as a customer Audi that he had done in matte black. Personally, I did not think that I would be happy doing my 993 in his product, but it is pretty neat what his installers can do with the stuff. He has a huge catalogue of different colours as well.

I'm just getting set up to do wraps in our new shop in Oakville. Our focus will be on commercial graphic stuff until we can get set up with in-house fitters. There are many, many different choices of colour. The stuff comes on 75' rolls at 60" width. Mostly wraps are used as signage on vehicles and those are expected to last 5 years or so. Forget machine washing though.

Thanks for the link. Any idea what they charge to wrap a car? Seems to be about $3,000 based on the conversations in the GT3 forum but it wouldn't surprise if it was a lot more in Toronto...

I just spent a 1/2 hr speaking with the guy featured in Provinz and he really knows his stuff. His company specializes in design and marketing toward advertising on vehicles through wraps. His office is outside of Milton but he has installation capability in West Mississauga. Cost depends on the complexity of the work and the vehicle itself. A HummVee is a lot more work than a Smart so guess which cost more. Someone told me that a plain wrapped 911 would be 3500ish.

Checkout these guys: www.vwrapz.com 905-761WRAP. They wrapped 2 X6M with a matte black finish, very labour intense; 3 men 8 hours $3400
I have no affiliation with this company.

I've seen a Ferrari 355 Spyder wrapped in this and it looks good, but it can fairly easily be nicked and when this happens, it will look just like a peeling sticker. Is doesn't scuff or scratch like paint.

Never thought of that. It seems that the Satin Guard stuff that's so pupular on big buck cars is super thick. Given that it's translucent you would notice a nick here and there.
