Default Paging Ronan...

Or anyone else who's familiar with Smarts. Where do you get service done? Are there any alternatives to the MB dealerships? My 05s in at MB Burlington right now for a water pump/alt belt replacement (it was squealing like a pig in heat) and they're saying there's a slight fuel leak at one of the lines, but quoting me $900 to fix it! I've tried getting hold of a shop called Supersmart, apparently in Oakville, but the guy never answers his phone or returns emails.

Did you see the leak for yourself? Dealership = Stealership

I don't think any fuel line should cost $900 unless the motor needs to come out to do it.

I'm looking into DIY. I just wish there was a Pelican equivalent for Smarts. There are several forums, and one awesome tech site, but nothing on my specific problem.

$900?! That's more than the whole car is worth!

I just had mine serviced at the dealer. The one big item, (a known weakness) was a blown turbo, at 13,000km. The car was about five years old and out of warranty, and it was a $2k tab,,,,,,

It's a bloody money pit. 98k total, 12 of which are mine. In that time, I've put about 2k into it, plus brake pads which I did myself. I had to replace the door handles, for crying out loud. They're known as a bad design on 450 models. Now this. If one more thing breaks, i'm going to burn it.

Door handles! Christ.
