Thanks Ronan, really lost myself in those pictures. Like being in a time-warp.

We easily forget about rural America, although this is beyond rural. It really is like a time-warp, the interstate "experiment" 50 years on.

They vary a lot and it pays to do some advance checking. I had dogs on the way down so stayed in Motel 8s most of the way...they take Great Danes which was what I needed. Some are well reputed such as the Munger Moss in Lebanon Mo., or El Rancho in Gallup where I stayed. They are both in the original thread which is linked earlier in this thread......
