A couple things to mention:

I WON'T be on the drive, so someone should be appointed as coordinator. That someone really should pre-drive the route the day before. One of the problems we encountered today was that nobody was familiar with the route (at least, nobody who was at the front of the pack) and as such, there were a lot of wrong turns. Not a huge deal, but I think it started to get frustrating.

You should really have at least one, if not two, gathering points, for when the group gets split up.

Exchange at least 4 or 5 cell phone #s, and spread those people out in the group, so if a couple folks get lost, then can phone ahead/behind to help get back on track.

Maybe it's better to divide into several small groups, each group has a lead driver and all lead drivers have each other cell phone #s. Just a suggestion , please drive safe and have fun everyone.

Contemplating letting my staff manage alone on Sunday, what's the worst that could happen?

So far weather indeed seems to be permitting..sunny anyway, though not what I would term hot.

So who is taking the reigns on this one? Who's planning the route, meeting spot, start time, map creation, pre-drive and gathering points. I don't know the area well enough and coach hockey in cottage country on Saturday so I, unfortunately, can't do it and as it is, will be driving back early on Sunday to attend.
