Fair bit of carnage at UCR DE over weekend

That will do it. Usually the white group is where people make the rookie mistakes.

He passed me on the right between 1 and 2 with tons of speed. Because he was on the right he entered the corner in good shape and had the apex lined up. I guess he thought it was too fast (he was) so he braked at the apex and spun. Now he locks the brakes and goes down the hill backwards still spinning and hit the grass sideways. You know the rest .....
I had to let up a bit so he could pass me between 1 and 2 and so I wouldn't be too tight going into the corner. By the time I pulled to the right to line up the corner he was sliding down the hill. Now I have to brake because I'm not going for an apex that has dirt all over it and a car going backwards! I braked straight untill I slowed down enough for a turn in.
There you have it. Time for a in-car camera.

I think we should begin a new rule starting for 2012 - finders keepers. It's getting out of hand now. People are channeling Paris Hilton - liking themselves way too much and into self taping...

BTW signing a waiver doesn't automatically exclude you from someone who wants to persue legal action. There was a club once in the Kingston area. They had a track day, and someone was killed, and the widow sued the club and won. Every member had to cough up $50g's. (this was many years ago)
BTW, clubs do usually have additional directors insurance for the executive members who may be sued in cases like this.

I do. I don't go to the track to set new lap times, or prove how fast I can drive. I go to the track to enjoy my car the way it was meant to be driven. And I have a lot of fun doing it. I've thought about buying a track car before, even went so far as to pick up a 944 a few years ago (turned out to be too much of a basket case to make safe for the track, so it became my winter beater for a couple years). But then I remind myself why I go to the track, and it's simply to enjoy driving my car fast around corners. Well, fast in the 1972 sense...
Meh, one less Camaro in the world...

As far as the chap that got hurt his side air bag went off and it caught him in the side. We were told he is o/k.

Just wondering if you have any more details on this incident? I'm presently the membership chair for the St. Lawrence Auto Club CASC-OR (Kingston area) and have been in the club for about 17 years and have never heard of this.

I disagree. As a white run group member I don't recall too many incidents in our group. Maybe selective memory or just tunnel vision but most of the PCA DE off track excursions for the past couple of years seem to have been in the black group.
