Default DE Day at Mt. Tremblant, Day One...

I couldn't attend the event as a participant since I'm on reserve at work...but I went anyway, just to soak up the sights, sounds and smells of a beautiful autumn day at the track!

It didn't start out that way as I left Montreal and headed north towards Mt. Tremblant and Le Circuit. POURING rain for almost the entire drive, but as luck would have it, about 25 kms before the exit off the Autoroute, the rain abated, the clouds parted, and the sun appeared!

Made for a cool but delightful morning at the track. I missed the first couple of run groups which had to run on a 'damp' track, but by 10:00 the track was dry and the cars flying!

The last time I was there was in 1989 with my '82 911 SC so not only had the cars morphed, so had the track...and to show me how much, 'Chris' took me for a few laps in his very, very, ( remember my perspective...1989, 3.2SC ) fast GT3. OMG...what a wonderful bonus to my visit!

The hook is sunk deep...gonna be a long winter

A few pics from this morning...Sorry Chris, missed the pic of your car

Nice meeting the 'head spoon', or 'soup spoon' as Chris and I nicknamed you, hahahaha....missed the food but you had your hands full with a full contingent of hungry drivers!

I got the 'full meal deal' in my ride with Chris! I already made an offer on a set of tires and rims for the track, got next season in my sights!

Maybe 'Rennspoon' needs and 'official photographer'?

Jim in Alexandria. All welcome...

Jim, I think that this "long winter" could provide a great opportunity for you to find a nice 996 GT3 of your own. You know, you could look around during your travels...

Ahhhhh...the 'slope' has a siren call, that seduces those with an unused line of credit! Woe is me :-).
