Cars like the NSX are shopped well in advance just like in 'Fast & Furious' and once they go into a container a GPS based theft system loses communication and it's home free unless law enforcement happens upon it. The global market place at work.
A chop ship operated out of New York city several years ago. It was a freighter that sailed to Brazil and inside was massive chop operation that took in whole cars that were parted and sold in bits in South American countries.

A few years back, we had my dad's Trailblazer SS for a few weeks while he was away (nice car but fuel mileage like that shouldn't be legal). My wife was taking it to work every day, and it was stolen out of the parking lot. If you think about it, an elementary school parking lot is the perfect place to steal a car - you know there will be zero activity between 1 and 3 pm. She called me immediately once she realized it was gone and I immediately called OnStar. Gone, no trace, no GPS signal whatsoever. So within an hour or 2, they had it in at minimum in a GPS-proof building or container, or quite possibly had even disabled OnStar completely.
In the end, insurance paid it out with no deductible, no hassle, whatsoever - in fact, they got a brand new car, so a year newer and 0 mileage. Serves the insurance company right, anyway, bloody thieves.

I considered boosting because I love this car and talked to a bunch of guys who did it....apparently they eat other parts quickly because they are just built to handle the stock 275bhp. One guy was doing a new clutch every 10K.
