but that is the reality with Body Shops...
Better to be Prepared for the Bad News then be Suprized... mine has been to the Body Shop 3 times. The last time it went in i was told the car would be ready in 2 Weeks (i lol'd to my self)... i planned for 4 weeks. Guess who was right and prepared... made road trips in the Rental

It appears i may beat Zookie for the longest body repair ever. Car was not ready yesterday.. seems they tried to align it again after replacing the strut, only to find a bent lower control arm. and.. they are having electrical problems with the cooling system.. and electrical gremlins in the air conditioning system. Monday.. don't think so... Tuesday.. probably not... how frikken frustrated am i..!

Why do they or is it because they know insurance is paying for the job?
I do know that there are two prices for windshield replacement; a much lower price if you are paying out of pocket and a much higher price if it is an insurance claim. Sounds like fraud to me.

They have the right to ask whatever they want from whom ever they want. How is that a fraud?

Jonathan.. quite the contrary.. the stars have not aligned, and i sit by ever so impatiently waiting news that my car is ready. As of Friday, they still had to trace a "broken wire" in the cooling system, change out a bent LCA, and find a fault in the A/C wiring. the "Head Mechanic" was working on it and could not be interrupted for a status report. After the mechanicals are sorted out, it had to go back to the body shop for assembly, polish and cleaning.
I was promised Friday, hoping for yesterday.. and now.. who knows.. I'm leaving next friday for 2 weeks in europe and would love to drive my car at least once before i leave...
its now into the 5th week....
cheers my friend

Well.. got my car back on Friday night at 7:30. The bodyshop boys stayed late to finish buffing the car. Must say., it does look good. they did a great job..
a few minor (very minor) issues.. ie.. the optical cable from the amp wasn't connected, and there were (are) minor wiring/electrical issues with the right side lights... Paint looks awesome. I spoke to Terry, a senior mechanic at Mark Motor and he explained all the suspension components that needed replacement. quite alot of unseen damage..
at any rate.. back in the saddle, after
32 Days.........
cheers
