Day 15 without my car! Stopped by the body shop to put my sticker on the license plate, and to check in. Car has not moved. Nothing done. Parts are in. Rim yet to be ordered! Supposed to be sent to have the plumbing fixed tomorrow.. New parts to be sprayed before they go on the car! Gonna call the insurance co. tomorrow. @ 100 bux a day for a rental. One would think the insurance company would be in more of a hurry to get this file closed andmycar back to me!
Frustrated, I wait impatiently as some nice weather passes me by!![Confused](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)

Most body shops take on whatever rolls through their doors and once the "contract" is signed it sits until they have a chance to fix it. This can take a long time with lots of empty promisses. Did you ask for a firm deadline?

@ Imre.. I asked to have the car back to me by Sept 7-8, as I am going to Lake Placid on the 9th.
@speedyellow... thanks.. i will certainly check on that.

My friend has a body shop. When he had my truck for collision work (through my insurance co.) he had it 10 days. Parts were ordered before I dropped it off, rental was waiting, and it only cost me the deductable.
You could pull the car and take it elsewhere. Or talk to the insurance company and raise hell with them.

well a good lesson learned thanks to SpeedYellow.. sent an email to the ins. co. inquiring about a ceiling for my rental. Turns out, yesterday was day 10. The ins. appraiser deemed my car an 8 day repair, so i was only entitled to an 8 day rental. I asked why the body shop, or I was not initially told this. No response.
At any rate.. i have now an 8 day extension on the rental (good until next Friday), and there has been activity on my car. Broken bits taken off, car sent to the mechanics to have the Rad, AC condensor and all the plumbing repaired. New rim ordered, Timeline for the return to me is Sept 8th.. one more week!

Looks like its going to be Friday before i have a chance at wheelin the Pcar again.. They unwrapped the damaged parts on Friday, and found a mangled inner fender liner, and bent strut.
Car is painted and being cleared today.. off to the shop for more mechanical work (another alignment) then back to the body shop for final assembly, polishing cleaning and hopefully delivery to me.
I'm anxious to see the final tally on this bill....

Glad the repairs are going well...
The only "bad" part is the collision history pay-out will look quite large and maybe a -negative if and when you decide to sell....you'll have a long story to explain to the buyer/dealer what happened......sucks....and don't ask me how I know.......
