Why is everyone selling their car?

Buying an old car is always a gamble, even with a good ppi, but telhe 15k sc's are the ones that already have everything sorted, sometimes even a rebuilt engine. The mediocre and ratty ones are going for 10-12. There's a saying that any (vintage) 911 is 20k, up front or bringing it up to par, but i think now that might be 15.

You notice the ones for sale are 993 and up? Once you have an older one I think you keep it. I've had mine for 10 years and could not come up with a reason to sell it. Maybe a 996 for a DD, but the Carrera wil be the one that gets the garage. Probably be buried in it ......

Nail on head. Sell them before they get old. Once they get into the hands of enthusiasts who are not afraid of older cars, they keep them. Compare the number of newer ones vs much older ones for sale. Good luck finding a decent 70's 911. (Yes I realize that they are much more "mass produced" now compared to years gone by) It just makes them more "disposable" than ever before.
