Sunday drive, coffee to lunch?
Thousand Island Porsche Club (group of people that feel better when we have a name to call ourselves) will be doing an informal gathering this Sunday. In an attempt to meet and greet with more Ottawanians, I'd like to have a meeting spot that could drag a few people out.
Our group is loosely based in Brockville, but we have members from the surrounding areas as far as NY, Kingston, Ottawa (look for Thousand Island Porsche on fb and request to join if you are interested).
Anyhow, I'll propose to meet in Merrickville at 9am Sunday June 8th (exact location will be determined as long as coffee and parking is available). A few will drive up from Brockville and meet there. I'm planning a 3 hour drive that will end with a nice pub lunch. This is a non-return drive plan, with lunch being roughly in the Rockport area. Many options to leave the group along the way. pm me if you must know the proposed route.
If your p-car is in the shop, feel free to bring a reasonable facsimile

For those joining our drive Sunday, we will be in Merrickville at 9am, meeting at or near the Village Bean Coffee House on the main street (Saint Lawrence St). We will be finishing up in Rockport on the water for lunch.

Route is set. Lots of turns. Total is 200km. Good food and drink at the end.
Hope to see some new faces. Pick-up in Merrickville 9am. A few of us departing Brockville at 8:15 if you want to join us there.

OK...so I went prepared to take some 'pics'. Yesterday. Sunday. June 22. I think it was a Sunday, seemed like a Sunday. Plus the sun was shining and the weather was perfect for taking 'pics'.
Only problem was, the 'pics' would have consisted of me and a couple of cute-utes. At 10:00am the Starbucks at the Trainyards were pretty much deserted. Just me and the 993. All shined up and nowhere to go, haha.
So I had a coffee...then another...then drove back to Alexandria, replenished the fuel burn, ( 28.00 ) put p-car back in the garage, cleaned off the bugs, then mowed the lawn.
Did I miss a memo? Or has it just died a natural death...

Thanks Bruno...thats my problem I guess, my opportunities are so sporadic...being on 1hr callout 24/7, 22 days a month on average...makes catching a Sunday morning difficult.
And 2 Sundays in a row would be a scheduler's 'mistake', haha. So looks like you folks will have a nice weekend coming up, hope you have a good turnout! I'll make it again soon I hope.
