Who is the best Porsche whisperer in the GTA
I have seen many recommendations for good mechanics in the GTA but any suggestions for who has a good feel for a 964. I bought in the fall and have no frame of reference for power/ballance feel of the car so I would like to find someone who would do a test drive and give feedback on the overall performance vs a well tuned car. Also need to have the ac checked at the same time.
This Saturday will mark the first time since April that ther will be no hockey curling soccer or baseball so I will be at the GTG this Sat am and hope to meet some of the other 964 owners and mabey pick your brains.
Thanks
Earl

Zorortech is great with 964s but outside the GTA. I take mine to him.
Henry at Refined Motorsports should be pretty handy as well.
I will try to make it this week and we can form a white 964 sub-group.

Also...
You could try Brent @ Hunter Motorsports - in Missaussauga.
Great guy - honest - and he knows the 964.
You guys should come out to Mosport this weekend - and join the White 964 run-group

Other than the A/C, what else needs looking at? Or is that the point? You don't have a bench mark.
The tricky part is that most of us have a myriad of non-stock performance parts. At 20+ years, 964s are like snowflakes and ***** - no two are alike.
I'd be happy to introduce myself and help you out any way I can.

My big problem is that I do not have a benchmark for engine performance or suspension and would like to have an experienced tech give me their take on the car vs a known good standard. I would like to know what I have and where I should focus my maintenance and performance upgrades to be as efficient as possible. I have put a total of appx 7,000 miles on the car since purchase, 5,000 hwy and about 600 of those on track and have no major concerns but again these miles are my baseline.

Samajam, my AC was recharged by G-tek last year, they are pretty competent, and I have seen you driving northbound on Leslie around Eglinton, so they aren't too far from you either. Although I think EU is also pretty competent aswell, they handled my suspension upgrade a few months ago.

I had my AC charged at G-Tek on Friday. It's still cool 5 days later which is a good sign for me! (Although even recharged it still needs to be pretty much on full cool all the time. My Honda van can freeze you to death in 10 minutes flat on the hottest day of the year.)

Thx Sultan, I am still looking for your car coming south.

[QUOTE=Imo000;8710281]The engine is in the wrong spot......that's your biggest problem. [/QUOTE
I hope it is not my biggest problem, but that is what I am hoping to determine.

Imre - I really like 928s - lovely hind quarters, but what's the joke about them? 95% of 928s sold are still on the road. 5% are able to drive home. jk!
Earl - my A/C does not like hot days. The temp is tepid at best, rarely prevents sweating. That's with a fully functional and charged unit. I find the car is down on power when A/C is blowing full tilt. My Elantra on the other hand, could freeze ***** off a brass monkey. Just one of the quirks of driving a classic car.
