OT: need your opinion for a good 4WD small sport truck
Hi guys, need your feedback to several of the "inexpensive" 4WDs I'm looking to purchase in no particular order/preference:
Jeep Wangler, Jeep Patriot, Ford Escape/Mazda Tribute, Chev Equinox.....trying to stick with a North American "brand" for ease of maintainence and relative "cheapness"

Anything Jeep is Chrysler and have problems with parts on the front end and brakes wearing prematurely. I've seen 1 year old Jeeps with balljoints falling out of them several times.
Ford and Mazda seem to be alot better in relation to parts wearing out early.

I've had 9 Escapes since 2001....personal, corporate and both kids. Currently the 2 (2008) corporate ones have over 200k kilometers with no major problems. Overall good vehicles, reasonable gas mileage, decent handling (they are light), and quite reliable.

Can't really go wrong with an Escape. See if anyone has any 2010s left - they're dirt cheap. A local Ford dealer was clearing out their remaining 2010 LTDs (leather and sunroof) for $18000. That's ridiculously cheap.
