The strength of the concrete matters some. But most residential concrete is at least 2500 to 3000 psi. Thats pounds per square inch. My boxster weights at most 2900 lbs and sits normally on a contact patch approaching a sq foot. That's 144 sq inches.
If my concrete isn't thick enough at the mounting spots. I need to have a large enough pier I think to tie in sufficiently into the existing floor with either rebar or some sort of lip in the form underneath the slab to prevent the cantilevering.
That's what I think , but I'm not an engineer - however I did build a lot of things with Lego when I was a kid.....

I would not "just" put this on my garage floor. Digging 3x3x12" footings and then attach to the existing floor sounds way safer. Check the mfg website, there are likely lots of disclaimers, but I would not take a chance on safety.
Be careful folks! (disclaimer...I am NOT an engineer)

Wow.
Ordered the lift on Saturday the 7th.... Get a call this morning that it's in Woodstock and ready for delivery.... Spent 30 minutes playing telephone tag with trucking company, wife, parents, and found someone to be at my house to accept delivery on Monday afternoon!
Suhhhhweeet!!!!!

My oldest son is a Civil Engineering Technologist. He works here in Kingston at Queens U.
Let me run this one by him. I`m sure he would want to know the weight of the car, weight of the lift, the pad size and the thickness of the concrete. And probably, what concrete was used ?
He does a lot of research and destructive testing on concrete. If he doesn`t have an answer, he can ask a Prof. I`ll see him on Sunday.

Each post weighs 400 lbs
It is rated for a 6000 lb vehicle.
Each post sits on a 13x14" steel plate. My vehicles weigh between 2900 and 3500 lbs.

I do not know the specs of my concrete. The house was built in 1986-87. No visible cracks in the floor. The floor of my garage is 33x22'

We just installed this lift in a garage addition. The directions for the concrete said that you need a minimum 4 inches of 3000 psi cement. If you need to pour the pads it needs to cure for 28 days to be solid enough to mount the lift. If you already have the garage floor you can call a concrete contractor and they can check the psi of the existing floor.
It's a pretty solid lift when bolted to the floor. I've been thinking of getting one also.

$1999.99 from Costco + HST
- no extra delivery charges
- delivered to my garage while I was at work (my parents came over at 12 noon to accept delivery. Set delivery time was 1pm.... get a call at 1:15pm from parents that my stuff is in the garage)
- no humping 880lbs around in the back of a pickup, or utility trailer, or taking a day to travel to Buffalo to pick it up.
- going to assemble the pump tonight..... while enjoying my other new garage addition - a 27" Panny GAOO CRT tv with swivel stand for $40 on kijiji. It's sitting ontop of the wardrobe in the pic with my Boxster S

That is an excellent price. I paid $1999.99 for mine a couple of months ago. I was going to order from the US directly, but in the end with customs, shipping and other logistics it was a wash. Costco even delivers to your door. Easy for me since I had a forklift to unload the 880 lb shipment.

wow that's a good deal....
Mine is set up now. Man, I could have used the extra $300 to help pay for the $500 concrete bill....
Sigh.....

I see you poured two rectangular pads. How deep did you go?
Did you do it yourself using premix or did you have a truck come in and if so, what grade of concrete did you go for?

My pads were 3x4x1' deep. 4000psi for the concrete. Cement truck and 2 wheelbarrows and a neighbor
