Default Can you make a 996 cup street legal and get it insured

Just wondering. Many people do the opposite.

if they can't do it in the USA, then likely we would be send to prison for thinking about it.

I think it would be easier to get a dealer license and use a dealer plate on it. Probably cheaper, too.

From what I've seen, you can get anything on the road in Alberta.

Greg, don't think you can. that 996 cup car is tempting. just put a trailer on the pepper! or were you thinking dd? probably doesn't have locks, signals, reverse light rear defrost etc...

I was thinking driving to and from the track and occasional spin on the weekend.
I used to ride on wooden benches while off roading, I really couldn't care less about creature comforts.

The whole trailer thing is a pain to even think about. The Pepper doesn't even have a hitch and I doubt my wife would allow me to take it and leave her with nothing to drive.

The VIN is a special one that when entered into the MTO system is flagged as off road use. Hate the think about the insurance issues as well. Someone has told me that the cup engines are rated in hours of use - from a low 0f 25 hours to a high of 70 hours before rebuilding.

Yes those hours of use is racing though with a race car driver and keeping the engine at peak hp. Driving like I do you might as well times that by 10000.
