Default Buying Helmet in the GTA?

Hey Guys,

Where is the best spot to buy a racing/track helmet in the GTA? I'm not looking for something too expensive, so somewhere with a good selection of different brands and styles?

Off the top of my head I thought of Sportscar Boutique?

Thanks,
Jonathan

Sportscar boutique got some good hjc helmets for autoracing OR if you are looking for inexpensive helmets, try RCI helmets. Their SA rated helmet starts at $190(discounted price) from fasttoys. They have that spcl clearence sale right now.

I have 3 helmets, I use shoei, agv and rci and I recommend RCI the best.

Be careful to check their SA rating most places are trying to get rid of the SA2005 which most organization will not be allow you to use after 2015.

Compare prices between SA2005 and SA2010 and decide if you want a new helmet (approved) in four years.

I did forget to add, it is sa2005 and that is why they are on sale now.

SA 2005 should be fine as they recommend that you shouldn't use a helmet more than 5 years anyway.

Thanks for the responses guys!

SA2005 should be fine, pretty sure I'd upgrade before 5 years is up. I'm only looking at a helmet because a couple friends and I are joining the Goodwood Karting Race season and I don't want to use their helmets... when I'm ready to DE I'll make a bigger investment in my helmet!

Jonathan, which day did you sign up for at Goodwood? I take my 9yo there and was contemplating doing it too on the same day.

Stan, we signed up for Saturday mornings, as I will be working starting in May and won't be able to do weekdays. Really looking forward to it, would be great to see you there!

Actually, well run DE's will accept SA dates going 10 years back. Eg SA 2000 helmets have just be deemed unacceptable this year. An SA 2005 helmet is a good value if you do not intend to do any sanctioned racing where SA dates are observed within 5 year windows.

Save the bucks on an SA 2005 helmet and afford yourself a premium model in the manufacturers line of offerings.

CSC has a 10% discount on Bell helmets right now to anyone who is a CASC (Canadian Automobile Sport Club) member.
