Mods.. what should I do?
#16
All of the suggestions are fine (well, except for turbo-charging, which I assume was very tongue-in-cheek).
However, in your shoes I would just drive it. Make sure everything is absolutely up-to-date maintenance-wise (e.g. refresh fluids etc), detail the car, and just get to know it. It is a very, very good package as-is and does not need mods. Eventually, you will develop your real wants - you don't really know what they are yet IMO. Maybe you like the exhaust tone and decibel level as it is, maybe your don't. You really need time to decide on these things. The first big choice will probably be your next set of tires.
You are in the honeymoon stage right now, and throwing a few thousand dollars at mods may seem like a good idea, but three months down the road, you may find that you would have been as satisfied with just the stock car. Mod in haste and you may over-spend!

1 suspension to lower it from the 4x4 look
2 exhaust so it doesn't sound like a sewing machine
3 997 X51 headers, cause the standard ones are cheap
4 Ipod/mp3 player connection
5 aluminum pedals and foot rest
6 short shifter
7 winter floors mats
8 winter tires/wheels so you can drive it instead of look at it
9 if it has those ugly yellow side indicators, replace them with the clear ones
10 clear bra the front lights, bumper and partial hood. Believe me it pays off

That's a crap load of mods. Few things though, considering all the mods I would probably go full out on the head lights and get the 997 conversion done.
Also move down the heating controller into the cd-storage and put a nav screen in there to make it look updated.

As the old saying goes: Change the nut behind the steering wheel.
Leave it. Make sure you have good pads, flushed brake fluid, safe tires, no leaks, all updates done... and take it to the track.
After a 4 or 5 track days... your list will be clear.

I agree with the lowering it and changing wheels. A good alignment and then some DE events....mouhaha! I'll be nice to you if I have you as a student, I promise. I can't say the same for your wallet when you get addicted to track events.
