Default Costco tool cabinet

I'm normally not a big Costco fan, and I recognize that all Costcos may not have the same stock, but the one near me in Kingston has 27" Homak Professional tool cabinets (16 drawers, full height) on for $399. That's better than Summit Racing in the US (or Amazon) without shipping. They also have a 40" set for $549.

I just got one, and one for a friend. Both were without defects, are considerably better made than the other boxes you can find around here, and are monumentally heavy. The top box is close to twice as heavy as a comparably-sized Craftsman box I have.

Note that they also don't have them online. These are not the ones listed on their web site.

I LOVE Costco, Their warantee is forever, (not some electronics).
I have taken back a 6 year old tv and a fridge. A 3 year old office chair.
They put the cash right back in your hand. Amazing.
Nothing can touch them. Great quality on their products.
You should try their food !!!!!

I bought a 27" tool chest from Costco last year. Different brand. I can't remember the price, but I think it was a decent deal.

Why would you bring back a 6 year old fridge and tv?

Vipola: yes, the drawers are all on bearings. They're solid and smooth.

The only downside I've encountered so far is that the lid on mine won't stay closed unless I latch it (i.e. lock it with the key) because the 'hood shocks' push it up a little too hard. I'm going to try moving the struts to the adjacent holes so that they have a little less mechanical advantage.

i googled this, and it appears it was true.... however they changed the policy sometime in 2007, and stuff bought after that date has a more conventional return policy......

We could probably discuss about the word 'use', I think 'abuse' would be more appropriate..

I remember 10 years ago.. I was buying my burnable-CD there, and I was keeping all the frezbee ('miss-burn' ones) and bringing them back when I had a full pack, or just when I didn't needed what was burned on the CD anymore

But I was like.. 15.. :P that was totally abusing the system LOL..

The "more conventional return policy" only applies to some electronics. And yes, it did change around 2007.
Majority of their items (like that tool box and many other things) remains the same.
As far as abusing there policy........ well... we have become a throwout socieity, so i spend sometimes more on a item (at times) from Costco. It is usually better made. Therefore it lasts longer. The manufactures eat the loss, not costco. It is part of the contract they sign to sell at costco.
I believe that a toaster, desk, chair, washing machine, cabinet, watch, should all last longer than a 30 day waranty......
After all if it was built better and designed to work longer wouldnt their waranty be longer?

I still use a toaster fron the 60's made by sunbeam (its a tank). How many of your old toasters are sitting in the landfill?
Just a simple example, dont beat me to death with it.
