Default Snow on the ground for final track day - Calabogie - Videos

Me in a 997 C2 - 2:26 - Toyo R888 - Snow on the ground in AM

I'm chasing a Z06 that was running Hoosiers R6s. Fortunately his sticky tires and oodles of grip overcame a couple of his rough lines.

My bud in his 996 GT3 - 2:20 - Yoko AD07 (STREET TIRE!!)

This guy is a poster child for anyone who says you need to run R-Comps to get the most out of his car. He's on street tires and turning times that would put most drivers (even on slicks) to shame. He did a 2:19 with me but it wasn't on video and without me (I'm 290lbs) he did a 2:17.6 - insane.... He ran some R6s earlier this year and put down some low 2:15 times his first shot on them.

Ha Ha!

I'm using my iphone

Harry's Lap Timer Pro GREAT use of $8.00!!

I also have all my telemetry that I can overlay from reference laps (like the GT3 laps) that has GPS speed, lateral acceleration, etc etc for each section of the track.

Yeah, just recently it was added (July I think). I was working on one to submit but mine was a little buggy and whoever submitted the current official map has every corner as reference points.

Great app, I can't say it enough.

Hey Adam - just downloaded that app - pretty cool ...

Are you using the iPhone's GPS or an external (if external, which one) ? Also, what did you end up using as a mount on the windscreen ?

It's a crazy app! I'm using the internal GPS and it's pretty good.

I bought a sturdy window suction cup mount from Future Shop. I think it was about $30. As you can see it vibrates a little but far from bad!

Another cool little feature is that if we add each other into the app, and track days where we're both there, we can see each other's location on track!

I am familiar with the features of the $6 Harry's Lap Timer version. So that I understand correctly, the Harry's Lap Timer Prof App has the ability to record the video using your iphone camera (iPhone 4 I assume) while it is recording all of the GPS data. Is this correct? Great lap by the way. Regards

I would assume that's the case. I only have Lap Timer Pro and an Iphone4 and there's a button to record video and telemetry/laptimes all at the same time.

It only records every second lap because it uses every other to save and format the video. You have to go back to each video and request the overlay of data onto the video (while recording, it gives you real time data, just doesn't save it with the video). The overlaying and saving process takes about 5 minutes on an Iphone4.

The Youtube videos don't do the quality justice. The hard copies saved on my HD are about 200 mb and can be run in full screen with incredible quality.
