Man, that's tempting! Only worries is the quality of manufacturing...is this made in China, like most of the stuff out of Princess Auto? I wouldn't want to be under a car that's supported by a hoist of dubious quality. Anybody have it?

I've been following this with interest: I asked at my local PA (Kingston) on Tuesday. They're not stocking it in store the way they do the Max Jax, but can order it and have it delivered to the store in about ten days. That introductory price is what they're using to gauge the market. If they sell a bunch this week, I would expect it to creep up a few hundred. If they don't, it may well disappear.

Compared to the consumer line from ROTARY (at nearly $4k by what I've seen) that's an attractive price, but I don't yet have much to go on in terms of the lift, itself. The PA guy I talked to said that it uses the same hydraulic pump and cylinders which they already sell in the hydraulics section (from Winnipeg, presumably by way of China).

I'm certainly considering an order, but would love to hear more about it.

I bought a 'Direct-Lift' 4 post lift recently from ADG Forward and I am really happy with it. Best lift for the price IMHO and way superior to the 4-post lift PA sells. Direct-Lift lifts are made in China but the company is a Division of Dover and is ALI Certified. I would suggest comparing the Direct-Lift 2 post lift (features and price) with the PA lift before you pull the trigger.

Trouble with a 2 post is that the loads on the posts are pretty high, making the quality more of a concern.
Also, unless the car is perfectly positioned, with the center of gravity at the posts, the only thing keeping the whole assembly and your car from tipping forwards or backwards are the bolts into the floor. You need a known good, well reinforced floor and at least epoxy anchors to be safe.
For a limited lift height ( the MaxJack) a scissors type is a lot safer, less expensive, and for any Porsche without a driveshaft, doesn't pose any accessibility issues.
I wanted one of these (not the car - the lift) but they don't seem to be available here so I settled on a scissors.

6000lbs... dont do it. China Junk. Danger Danger, timmy's stuck under the car !!!

Buy from a real lift co. There are plenty of vids on youtube about the quality. I looked into a good lift for quite awhile now and i would not get that one....

This is for a 10,000 but you will get the idea.
