Default Wideband

Why not get a Wideband, I have one installed in my Turbocharged 944 and am about to install one in my Turbo Corvair, you can even get a gauge to monitor A/F as you drive.

Wideband O2 sensors needed for AF generally have a rather short life and are not cheap, at least not when I needed them back in the day. This being 2010 and whatnot, i'm sure prices have now come down.

Besides that point, you're idea is excellent. A/F Guages are plentiful. Everyone from AEM on thru ____ makes one.

I've had mine for two years and its still running strong, I do calibrate it every couple of months and you must install the sensor as far as possible from the turbo. With regards to price, I just picked up one for $149.00 US without a gauge, the complete kit including gauge goes for a round $200.00 US. I also have a LM1 that I've never used, its now discontinued but still provides a great way to check AF when a unit is not permanently installed.

The LC1 doesn't take long to install, the hardest part is adding the O2 bung. The LM1 is a portable unit that does not need permanent installation, it does need additional O2 sensor bung that's plugged after tuning. By the way, I keep an my gauge every time I drive the car!!

I had one of Gunson's products. I don't think much of them or their customer service.

Are there any other gas analyzers out there?
