Default New Wheels (DD)

Well, I couldn't resist. On my quest to find a great 993, I came across a great 964 C4 to use as a daily driver.

I've now owned a 1987 911, an 1982 hotrod 911, and the 964 is just a natural evolution in a lifelong obsession. Why rush into a 993 and skip a great chapter in 911 history?

Details and pictures posted by the end of the week!

Actually, NinetyOneC2 is selling a set of D90 rims & (old) tires for $200.00 (scroll down on this page: https://rennlist.com/forums/rennlist...ndatory-7.html). If they fit the C4, you should jump on them and buy a brand new set of Bridgestone Blizzak tires

I am putting on high performance all seasons, which are great in dry, wet and light snow, but would also like the meaty Blizzaks for those nasty couple of months.

Noooo you've gotta have a set of performance tires for the summer and a set of winter for the winter! Best of both worlds

Congrats on the purchase!

I love your point about not skipping a chapter. You'll love the 964.

I know I know.. but honestly, driving on the 407 and 427 to work every day....I don't think I'll notice a difference in the compound!

Also, I think the high performance all-season of today is probably a better summer tire vs. summer tires of 5-10 years ago...

I have Bridgestone RE750 summers on the SC, and it hydroplanes all over the place in the wet, but are awesome when at the right temp and pressure on the track.

James - you know where I stand on the subject of a 964 C4. I have a spare set of winter rims we can talk about too, but Michael's D90s should defo fit.

You can even get Nokian Hakka's for the white stuff. Those will be my next set of winter boots.

And as you well know - this thread is useless without pictures.

Secretly, I hope your C4 is white. Congrats.

Those D90s sold... I'll be interested in yours.

I'm very excited about having a 911 that serves the polar opposite purpose to my current 911.. It's comfortable, practical, has a stereo that you can hear over the exhaust, airbags, etc....

Dominic at Autowerks said, "James, now you know this car isn't going to be as fast as your car." I replied, "Yes, I'm aware of that, not until it snows anyway." LOL

Pics coming soon. Have not taken possession yet. I cannot promise it's white.

I have toyo versado all seasons for the audi a6...they are supposed to be great in snow and summer...I like them in summer but the winter tires are better in winter. check them out, they are a brand new technology.
