Calabogie Track Times
I'm curious. I was told that a well sorted GT3 in reasonably stock form on R comp tires could do 'bogie in about 2:16
What could a C2 do it in?
It's more a comparison between the GT3 and C2... Curious how far the C2 is from the GT3 in it's capability.
Humour me!

2:16 in a real good sorted out driver!, just guessing but the same driver that runs that would probably run a 2:20 -2:22 in a C2 with R comps
Check out here though for some comparisons.

Personally I ran a 2:30 with a 996 C4S on street tires. While Farzan ran a 2:26 in a 997.1 GT3. Which I would believe is a well sorted out GT3.

One of the guys I was up with two weeks ago was running 2:17.0 with a completely stock 996 GT3 on new pilot sport cups. Car was setup by fiorano but other than that, all stock components. He didn't even have harnesses!

There is 80hp difference or so from a 996 GT3 and a 997 C2.
The GT3 has a more track oriented suspension and revs higher. There is less understeer with a 996 GT3.
A 996 stock GT3 at 2:16/2:17 is moving. Really moving.
That's Bruce's time.
I'd say if you were under 2:24 you'd be doing well.

I'm curious. I will have to find some way of having a spectator (wink wink) keep track of my time next time around...
On another note Chris, tracked down the PCA rep in the US and she has finally processed my membership!

Here's a lap in a 997 GT3 - not timed, but interesting to watch. Keith is driving, having fun, not taking it too seriously.

this is a more serious attempt.

.....anything under 2:30 is VERY respectable.
Next time you're there, talk to George the owner of Turn2 about:CMP lap timing
He has set up a complete trackside timing system for bikes. I believe it's for hire on cars as well.
Not sure whether CMP lapping days will condone it though.....

Oh and that is with Michelin Pilot Sport Cups. On street tires add a few seconds.
Here's Bruce in his 996 GT3 http://www.calabogiemotorsports.com/...138&video_id=3

I drive a stock 997 C2 (except -1.5 camber) with street tires. My best time this year (intermediate driver & not taking it too seriously) is 2:30. I used a iPhone laptimer app, and I do not know how accurate it is; it is GPS-based. Seems ok to me for casual use. I don't know how much R comps would improve things. Hope to see you at the track soon,
cheers, Rob

My best time ever in my 987 Boxster-S with street tires was just around 2:34 - more typical times were closer to 2:40 ... taking the new-to-me 997 C2S Cab and street tires out for the first time last fall my best lap was about 2:30'ish (edit ... checked my notes and it was 2:31 and change) but I was being careful to not push too hard as I was feeling out the new vehicle ... I'll be playing with MPSC's on Wed this week ... should be fun.
I think I know the track reasonably well but I'd say I'm only an intermediate driver.

Who do you guys all run with? I'm there at many of the CMP days done with Entrack and might hit up a PCA day (except I'll have to either install another racing seat or revert to stock seats).
Wouldn't mind putting some faces to screen names...
