Did I just see Geoff on Global News?

Thanks guys. We're fighting the fight.
I just found out about a meeting our Councillor is putting on for the community to discuss "community issues". She didn't send it out to very many people from what I understand - likely just to her supporters. My wife and I obtained a copy, she didn't have the ***** to invite us. Needless to say we're crashing it.
If you want to **** disturb along with us tomorrow here are the deets:
Thursday June 3, 7-9pm @ Adam Beck Public School in the Beaches.
ByPass pipes welcome and encouraged.
Believe me, I'll be having a 204 Beech Avenue GTG as soon as I get a demolition permit.

Neighbors
Geoff,
I support you in your move to provide a better home for your family's needs.
I can also 'kinda' see your neighbors concern about changing the face of the neighborhood. I did catch a glimpse of your plans on your blog a few weeks ago when your story came up on rennlist earlier in the spring.
She is using legal means to get what she wants, which is unfortunate, as one day you may be neighbors.
I guess you need to use legal means to get what you want too, which is unfortunate too.
I don't know the neighborhood , but I can't see how one weird (it is weird) looking house will affect property values in a detrimental way. I think the house looks cool.
Good luck in your battle. Unfortunate that it has come to this.
Peter
PS. my parents went thru something similiar when they renovated their 'new' 40yr old cottage on Lake Muskoka. They needed a minor variance for part of the renovations on the S side of the property. It wasn't encroaching on the waterfront or anyone's view of the waterfront. Their neighbors on the N side of the property put up a stink, even though they couldn't even see the renovation from the front of their cottage.
The neighbor thought that having updated cottages (most cottages in Muskoka are updated) would devalue the area....
The neighbor thought that their view of the 'forest' would be affected.
The council just laughed at the neighbor.

I caught most of it on the evening news...
I knew you looked familiar....
My wife and I were disgusted with the situation.
You handled yourself very well and were very well spoken.
I hope things work out how they should!!!
Good Luck

Thanks guys.
A little background:
We purchased 204 Beech earlier this year. Before purchasing the property we went to Heritage Preservation Services to ensure the home was not listed or designated - it wasn't, and still isn't. We hired an architect, who confirmed the house was not historically significant. We hired an arbourist to ensure we could protect and build around the trees on the property. The architect was also commissioned to conduct further site visits to confirm we could be a 2250sq ft accessible 3 bedroom home that met the unique needs that a quadriplegic mother has. Upon realizing Councillor Bussin had received an email expressing concern over the project we contacted Ms Bussin to give her our side of the story. Ms Bussin failed to notify us that she was commissioning ERA Architects to conduct a report on the property. Nor did she notify us that she would be bringing a motion to council so we could be present to our side of the story and present evidence to fellow councillors before voting this motion through.
The plans for the new home meets all city by-laws and zoning restrictions. We did our due diligence and yet our project is in jeopardy. As property owners, we should have rights within the limits the City of Toronto has outlined. As neighbours, we ask that you sign the petition to support us and the property rights of everyone in our community.
Here's how the house will look from our street (The garage and level wheelchair access is in the rear):
