Three Wheelin'
This is my rally car project! Yay! Finally!
However it needs "everything" from a clutch, top end rebuild and AWD fixes. That's $20-30k worth of work. Into a 13K car? No chance. (And then I'm going to have to rally prep it!)
Sorry my friend, this is a "parts car" at this point. : ( NO offence intended - but as mentioned above - the 964's (Deeply loved by many here in the GTA!) quickly tip over into that "underwater" state where they will cost more to fix than the initial asking purchase price. You're there, I'm afraid.
I'm interested, but we'd need to talk. IM me if you're open to a price dicsussion framed around a more realistic valuation. (Man, I feel like a Dragon from the Den!)

Race Car
He's not too far off. Clutch is $1000, top end must be 5k, awd stuff could easily run another 5 (could be a $50 part, but as a buyer, unless you know for sure you have to budget for worst case scenario), so we're at 10 there, and that's just parts for DIY. A shop's labour for a top end would be a few more grand, do the clutch while you're in there, so maybe only an extra couple hours for that. Then there's the rust issue. Often where there's a bit of rust showing there's a ton more underneath. And if it's around the windshield it could be serious, with regard to holding the windshield in place (as opposed to cosmetic rust on, say, rockers or something like that). So again, a huge question mark, could be a 10k fix if it involves extensive body work and a full-on respray (to do it right).
Again, this is all worst case scenario, but until you're in there you have to assume that, as a buyer. If it were my car I'd do the top-end and clutch myself before selling it - not only would you then not have that detracting from the price, they'd become selling features - big ones. I'd then have the rust issue explored - have it fixed where it's visible, and then if more is found further deep, reconsider my options.
You have to be realistic - I had my car up for sale earlier this year, and the single biggest issues people had were cosmetics (interior needs some sprucing - it's fine considering its age, but it's not pristine) and the small rust hole in the front trunk. I knew about the rust hole when I bought the car, but it hasn't got any worse, nor is it structural, so I haven't bothered doing anything about it. Well, that scared a lot of potential buyers off. I had recently replaced the clutch, and have a rebuilt engine in there while the original engine is out for a rebuild - I was giving both engines with the car, so it was, IMO, a killer package. But rust is a major issue, and I decided to take it off the market. Maybe I'll fix the rust over the winter and relist it in the spring, maybe not, I'm not sure. But I definitely won't actively try to sell it again without addressing the rust issue, replacing the interior carpet and having the driver's chair reupholstered. All in all probably less than $2000 in work, but, if you consider the actual offers I was getting on the car, $10-12,000 in value.

Well I'll leave it to the individual. Bottom line is the car needs to be seen to be appreciated. The fact that money doesn't need to be spent on little stuff all around the car goes a long way. Even the rear spoiler drive works perfectly. So we'll see what happens. I'm totally open to PPI's anywhere. All I can do is be honest! I just ask that if you have an offer or something to say, please PM me.
Thanks!
