1990 C4 coupe for sale
I have a 1990 964 c4 fixer for sale! Car is Gaurds Red on black. Options include sport seats and rear window wiper on top of your standard equipment. Vehicle currently has 98k and is a local Ontario car. Car is completely original down to the blaupunkt cassette deck.
What's wrong with it?
-Engine has a broken head stud on right side bank, have not determined which one or where it's broken. Minor oil leaks from engine as well.
-Typical rust around windshield.
-all wheel drive fault comes up, have not diagnosed issue
-needs a clutch
The car is otherwise in great shape, with the exception of the 4 items listed above I would say the car is an 8 of 10. The car starts, runs and drives so a road test can be arranged. Vehicle drives beautifully.
I'm asking $15,500 or b/o for this car as is. Please PM me if interested.

Actually the thought crossed my mind , if I had the room , replacing studs is a major expensive teardown but could be done with patience. I imagine the DMF is gone already but maybe not given it has clutch issues. The killer on these things really is the AWD system. Would actually be worth it for someone to convert to a C2. Problem is you would practicaly have to get the car for free as after spending the money you could have bought a decent one to start off with .. and rust to boot.
Would be a great pickup for a DIY guy looking for a track car though i would imagine. Maybe sell some of the weight saving stuff to offset the cost ... those sport seats look yummmie ..

I've tought about this one when I first saw it but I don't know of I want to venture into a project with this much initial cost.
OT: There is a 911 just like this one (same colour too), driven by a young blond mom. I see the car every now and then around the neighbourhood.

please spread the word to somebody who may be interested, I would love to fix this car, but with my project vw golf and turbo 5L mustang, I'm out of dough and room. Thanks for the kind words everybody. It's really too bad, it's such a nice car.

I was looking at a 964 C4 cabrio from the states, high mileage but with a rebuild, no leaks, etc. for about $18k, as I remember, but was turned off it by the AWD system. I spoke to Cliff at length about it and he said if you're going to track it, don't go awd, it's just too expensive to maintain when driven like that. It was really too bad, because it was a beautiful car.
